Water Damage in Los Angeles

by admin on January 17, 2010

This week’s forecast calls for rain throughout the Southland, which will unfortunately bring with it water damage in Los Angeles.

While accidental or sudden flood damage is typically covered by your homeowners policy  — examples include your freezer, dishwasher or sink leaking — flood damage from rain is typically not covered  unless you have specific flood insurance, or under specific circumstances, such as when rain enters through the roof.  Nevertheless, remaining calm and following simple steps can save you untold expense and stress…

Many homeowners mistakenly assume that a water damage professional will cost more money than attempting to dry out their property themselves; oftentimes, hiring a professional water damage restoration expert SAVES our clients money.

If your home or office suffers from water damage, here are some tips and remedies to consider:

  • Assess the scope of the problem to the best of your ability.
  • Take care to avoid open power or electrical sources, including appliances that may be in standing water.
  • Take care of the problem the right way — quickly and comprehensively — so your home or office doesn’t get mildew and mold
  • Mildew and mold can lead to serious health problems including lung spores, asthma and flu-like symptoms that can manifest long after the water has dried.  Oftentimes, homeowners do not even consider that it was the long-forgotten flood that is causing their health issues.
  • Flooding can affect the structural integrity of your property
  • Oftentimes, by taking care of the problem properly, we can save the client the expense and hassle of opening walls and doing a lot of reconstruction later.  Once mold develops, it is a very costly and time-consuming problem to address, both structurally and medically.
  • Water travels! It will find the smallest nooks and crannies of your home, which is why it is absolutely critical to formulate a drying plan and get to work without delay.
  • We remove materials carefully, perform anti-microbial treamtents, utilize an industrial air scrubber to remove spores, bacteria and dust.
  • As we’re drying out the house, the air is being filtered with a HEPA filter, an added benefit for our clients.
  • Save yourself and your family and hire a professional.
  • Tag Team 911 has been in business since 1993, and working in the industry since 1988.
  • We are certified by the IICRC, the governing body of the Cleaning and Restoration industry.
  • Most important, we are caring, courteous and professional and our help is just a phone call away.

Its like you read my thoughts! You seem to understand so much about this, such as you wrote the book in it or something. I believe that you just can do with a few percent to force the message home a bit, but other than that, that is fantastic blog. A fantastic read. I’ll definitely be back.
